About the Inventor

CateringStone was created by legendary inventor and author, Dr. David A. Pensak, Ph.D.

Dr. Pensak is one of the country’s most prolific and successful innovators. A critical force in research at E. I. Dupont de Nemours, Inc. for 30 years, Dr. Pensak was the Senior Research Fellow and Principal Consultant Senior Research Fellow at Advanced Computing Technology in Wilmington, Delaware. He was with DuPont for over 30 years and managed all advanced computer technology explorations and developments for the corporation.

Dr. Pensak also founded Raptor Systems, the computer security company that developed and brought to market the first commercially successful Internet firewall (ultimately accquired by Symantec), V.i. Laboratories, Inc. where he is the company’s Chief Scientist, and Authentica, Inc.  He currently acts as an advisor at several major computer and telecommunications companies.

In addition, Dr. Pensak has served as a Director of Delaware Innovation Fund, sat on the Board of Editors of the Journal of Computational Chemistry, Computers and Chemistry, the Journal of Molecular Graphics, and Science (AAAS) Software Board, has published or co-published dozens of articles in molecular chemistry and computer assisted design, and has also done postdoctoral work for the National Institutes of Health.

He has 38 patents and applications being prepared in fields ranging from agricultural chemistry to solid state physics and business-process modeling. Dr. Pensak earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Harvard University and an A.B. in Chemistry from Princeton University.
