GENERAL USE How long will a cold or hot CateringStone last? CateringStones can be used over 1,000 times before the food safe chemicals inside begin to wear out-- making them green and sustainable . What are the temperatures and differences between the CateringStones? Ultra-Cold -9ºF. (-23ºC) is ideal for frozen food items. A safe, multi-use unit for use in the catering pipeline from preparation, transport, to display and serving of temperature-sensitive frozen products. Consistent Cold 14ºF. (-10ºC) is best for keeping temperature-sensitive cold foods cold. Designed to replace ice and gel cooling methods and to provide temperature that is between wet ice and dry ice for 4 to 20 hours* Especially good for keeping ice cream at perfect serving temperature (not slush and not rock hard). Palate Pleasing Hot 176ºF. (80ºC) is designed to replace open flame and electric heating methods. Ideal at keeping hot foods quite hot. Food will not continue to cook at this temperature.

*****HOW TO USE How do I heat the CateringStone? Heat a Palate Pleasing Hot CateringStone by boiling it in water for 30-40 minutes (45 - 60 minutes on first use.) Heat so that water circulates underneath the stone. Do NOT weigh down CateringStones in the boiling water, just let them float. Heat CateringStones in a boiling water bath until contents are fully melted. You can use stock pots or food warmers. Flip the CateringStone halfway through the heating process and gently shake to mix contents. Can I heat in a microwave or conventional over? Do NOT heat in microwave as this will destroy the unit. For use in a conventional oven, make sure CateringStones float in a water bath and have sufficient water circulation. Do not allow water bath to run low. You may place a dish towel around them or in the bottom of the heating unit to protect them. When do I know if the CateringStone has reached its optimal temperature? HOT: Holding the heated CateringStone carefully with tongs or a thermal mitt, the Thermal Consistent material should be completely liquefied. COLD: The cold CateringStones will be completely solidified when frozen. How do I freeze the CateringStone for best results? For the Consistent Cold CateringStones, simply freeze your CateringStone overnight on its side until frozen (with label side down). The freezer should be set to 0°F, or lower. When the unit is frozen solid there will be a small amount of air in the bottle. For best results, use the stone label side up, so the air pocket is away from the food. For the Ultra Cold CateringStone, simply freeze your CateringStone unit overnight on its side until frozen solid (label side down). This may take up to 48 hours on first use. The freezer must be set to -10°F, or lower. When the unit is frozen solid, there will be a small amount of air in the bottle. For best results, use the stone label side up, so the air pocket is away from the food. Can I freeze the Ultra-Cold and Consistent Cold CateringStone together? Yes but, The Ultra-Cold CateringStone requires freezing at below -9º F as in a deep freezer or ultra-low temperature cabinet. First time use instructions: Once you receive the CateringStones, you must heat or freeze the CateringStones at least once before using for your event. *****CLEANING AND STORAGE How do I clean the CateringStones? Can I put them in a dishwasher? Soap and water are the best way to clean the CateringStones. Cold CateringStones must be hand washed and never placed in a hot dishwasher.
